"All right! Practice is over, hit the showers!" Coach Greene shouted, blowing his whistle. Xianos got out of the pool walking up the side steps and made his way into the locker rooms. Almost to the showers he heard the coach call out to him, "Xianos! A word?" The large polar bear said. Xi turned and walked towards the opposite direction. Making his way to the adult he got a smile. "Great job again today, Xi. But uh.. You seemed a little out of it today. Everything okay?" Coach Greene asked in concern. Coach Greene, head coach of all sports was ruthless during training but was actually a big hearted guy. "Yeah. Just a lot on my mind today, that's all." Xi answered. "Make sure to get some sleep over the weekend. Get to bed at a decent time." The coach replied, Xianos nodded, grateful.
Xianos made sure he was the last one in the entire room before taking a shower. Being this was the last class period of the day, it would only be understandable if he was one of the only few left on the school campus. Making his way to the showers, he turned the shower to warm and immediately felt the warm waters over do the cool waters of the pool. Making it quick, he grabbed a towel off the rack and almost had it wrapped around his waist when he heard a familiar deep voice. "Hey, Xianos."
The lizard's towel fell off of his hips and landed on the floor, and instantly covered his vagina with his hands. "Oh-OH.. Deacon. I m-mean-" Xianos sputtered out in a frenzy. "Xi. You don't need to cover yourself. We're both guys, you know?" The dragon said considerately. "Don't be so sure.." Xi said under his breath, but then realized his words were heard by the other man. "Is it because of your condition? You have a vagina instead of a penis and balls?" Deacon asked. This question was asked at least a million times, but for once not in sarcasm. "Ye-yeah. Wait. You know? Only my friends and family knows. How do you know this?" Xi asked, obviously upset.
Xianos was very thorough in not letting people know that he had a vagina. So for someone he barely knew to be aware of it was beyond being concerned. But something in the dragon's voice calmed him down. "One of your friends, Tyr, explained it to me. She said if I ever came close to upsetting you about it, she'd slaughter me. But, I'm not that kind of person." Deacon explained. At first, the lizard was angry for how his friend could just give a secret away like that. But then hearing what she would do to deacon, made the anger vaporize and leave him with a smile. A smile also for knowing that Deacon was actually a good guy. "Really?" Xi asked, still unsure. "Xi, It doesn't matter to me if you don't have a penis. I like you for who you are." Deacon said smiling warmly. 'This guy really is something else.' Xianos thought to himself as he uncovered himself. A blush covered his face as he was exposed.
"Do you still want the towel? I can tell you're not comfortable like this." Deacon asked. "Yeah, thanks." Xianos said as Deacon handed him the towel on the floor. "So, was this what you wanted to talk about?" Xianos asked after wrapping the towel around his waist. "A-Actually. No, I wanted to talk about..." Xianos heard the nervousness in Deacon's voice and looked at him with a face saying 'it's okay take your time.' Deacon saw this and smiled. "I... I really like you, Xi. I have for well, pretty much since day one, I just didn't know if you'd... Feel the same." Deacon came out leaving Xianos' jaw to the floor. "I should prob-" Deacon was cut off by a kiss and was thrown off. The kiss lasted for a few moments until they broke off, smiling.
Xianos heard his cell phone ring in his locker as he made his way over to it. "Hey, Xi." Deacon asked softly, getting the other's attention. "Hmm?" He asked smiling. "This means were together? We can take it slowly as you want to." Deacon said. Xianos couldn't help but let out a smile from ear to ear. "You bet. And.. Deacon, thanks." He said. Deacon gave him a kiss on the cheek and slipped something into his hand before walking out waving. Xianos saw what was on the paper and smiled as he confirmed knowing that it was the large dragon's number. He looked down at the phone in his hands and read the text message, from Tyr.
"I keep to my promises. Deacon had best take to his. The boys and I are heading to back to me and Osiris' place. Call your mother for permission first. Bring Deacon if you want
-Tyr."
Xianos smiled again. He quickly brought up his call list on his phone and called his mom. After a second ring he heard her answer. "Hello?" Xi always expected an answer on the second ring. "Hey mom. Is it okay if I stay at Osiris and Tyr's house?" He asked. Xianos mom, Scylla, trusted the wolf and his brother with Xianos' safety and heard her reply back- "Absolutely. If you plan on spending the night or weekend, that's all right too. Have fun, dear." She said, finishing with an I love you. Xianos returned it and began changing clothes and head over to his friend's house, still smiling.
