The Awakening: Part One.

The rays of the sun harshly burned the sands of the Vindu Desert. Luckily, the sands were tame and had not picked up by the winds to gather into a sandstorm. Ruins of an ancient civilization were said to lie in the desert. Ruins of untold mystery and history.

None, however, had dared to tread into the depths of the site. Not even the umberlings of the conjuror Lesser dared to wander into the ruins. The said man had caught wind of this and his interest of the case was grabbed and immediately called for his attention. He, accompanied by his faithful servant Zack and his good friend Wolfie the bunnywolf, had begun to excavate the remains.

"Have you found anything yet?" Lesser asked, calling out to the two men. "No sir, we are still trying to clear the area of debris." Zack called back.

"Master, are you sure we should be here?" One of the umberlings asked, scared. The small floating sphere along with the others shaking. "Honestly, you have simply no sense of optimism today, do you?" Lesser asked, sighing.

Zack's muscled body was pouring with sweat as he managed to move another rock out of his path. "Zack, I don't think it's wise to overexert yourself. Why don't you take a break? I'm more than able to clear the rest of the area." Wolfie said. The bunnywolf was truly more than able to, his strength was clear to see with the bulging muscles that blanketed his body.

"No-no I'm f-fine.." Zack breathed making his way to another boulder. "Zack!" Lesser called out. Wolfie walked towards the raven haired man and carried him into the site. Wolfie carefully set him down, and he smiled to the larger man. "Thank you, Wolfie." he said and the bunnywolf smiled with a nod.

Zack began to pant heavily, his lungs pleading for breath. "Zack. Listen to Wolfie. You've done more than enough for ow. Take a break, we would hate to see you faint from overworking yourself." Lesser said calmly, patting the blond's back. Zack smiled as he slowly got up. "Thank you.. I will, master. But let me... At least remove this last rock.." He said.

Suddenly, the ground began to tremble and crack. "Oh dear, I believe we may have caused a seismic shift. Let us le-" Lesser was unable to finish his sentence as the ground around Zack opened. "Who-oaaahh!" Zack yelled, falling into the hole below him.

Moments later, Lesser gazed into the dark opening and called out for the man. "Zack? Are you okay down there, boy?"

"Yes, master! I'm fine!" The man's voice called back, setting the two men at ease. "Master! There's something down here!" Zack called out again. Lesser looked deeper into the hole, curious. "What is it?" He replied. He looked at Wolfie who also wore a face similar to his. "I see... I see a room! One that's still intact!" Zack answered to the conjuror again.
"I think you and Wolfie should see this, sir!" He said.

Lesser took a moment to think before answering back down to the man. "All right then, don't wander!" Lesser replied. "Master!? You surely aren't REALLY going to go down there are you!?" One of the umberlings asked, it's pitch rising.

"Yes. He's found something that he believes requires my attention. And, quite frankly, I'm very interested myself." Lesser said. "But-" Another umberling said. "Oh stop. For once today, I would like some sort of positivity from you all." He said.

"Wolfie, if you would be so kind?" Lesser asked the bunnywolf. "You don't need to even ask." Wolfie answered, gathering the man into his arms. Crouching, he then leaped into the hole, causing the umberlings to panic.

Wolfie landed on his feet, his strong legs easily able to keep his balance upon landing on the ground. "I'm fine!" Lesser called to the umberlings who he knew were undoubtedly worried. Wolfie gingerly set the man on his feet, smiling. Thank you, dear Wolfie. You never cease to amaze me." Lesser said with a smile. "Zack?" Lesser called, looking around for the blond. "He probably went into the room." Wolfie said. "That's Zack for you, ever the curious one." Lesser commented, shrugging. The two men made their way into the large antechamber, surprised to see the place still intact, just as Zack had said.

They then saw the man only moments later, wearing a look of guilt. "Sorry, master. I-uh..." Zack said, rubbing the back of his neck. "No worries. It is enough to see that you are safe." Lesser said, shaking his head. Wolfie couldn't help but chuckle a little. "I must say, though. This room is truly a remarkable find. Well done, boy. Even if it were your clumsiness." Lesser complimented, causing a small blush to color his face.

They examined the room and all it had within. Ancient texts were engraved on the walls. "Hmmm. Intriguing." Lesser said, looking at the symbols. "Can you read them, Lesser?" Wolfie asked. Lesser sighed and shook his head. "I'm afraid not, my friend. This seems to be in a language that has been dead for many, many years." The conjuror answered.

Zack, meanwhile, was also examining the hieroglyphics. His eyes widened as he discovered a switch panel on the wall. "What does this do-ahh!?" Zack suddenly shouted again. The switch caused one of the engraved walls to open, revealing a passageway. Lesser smiled, "Well done, Zack. Not once, but twice now!" He exclaimed.

The three men made their way into the dark tunnel, the darkness becoming thicker and thicker to the point of not seeing a thing. "One moment." Lesser said. He snapped his fingers, his hands engulfed in a bright light.

Continuing where they left off, they soon arrived at a door before them. The door was grand in both size and detail. "My, how very articulate.Would you two be so kind as to open this door?" Lesser asked.

"Right away, master."

"Not a problem."

The two men answered approaching the door. The two went on one side of the door each. Wolfie grasping the left as Zack doing the same on the right. Counting to three, the two muscled men slowly and carefully opened the door, bringing a gust of air coming from the opening. "Well done, you two! Now let's.... Let's... Oh my." Lesser said, suddenly at a loss for words. Wolfie and Zack overcome with the same sense of surprise.

The two walked into the room slowly, amazed at what they were seeing. The walls held ancient texts as the same room before, but longer and extensive. In the center of the chamber, was a sarcophagus. For a moment, no words were said as the men simply gazed at the sight before them. The silence then broke as Lesser said, "Let's take this back."

"Take it... Back?" Zack asked in disbelief. Lesser nodded in glee as he walked towards the grand casket. He closely examined the details engraved on the sarcophagus and his eyes suddenly widened in surprise.

"Ah! Of course!" He exclaimed. "It's no wonder I was unable to translate the texts, these are from a language that is not just dead but far more extraordinary!" He said, his voice laced in excitement. "What do you think it is?" Wolfie asked. "If my theory is correct, this dates back to as far back as to the time of the Arcana Wars. Truly fascinating!" Lesser responded. Zack couldn't make heads or tails of what the man had meant, there were so many events that had happened today. "Well then, I believe we are done here. Wolfie, surely this poses no difficulty for you?" Lesser asked the man, who nodded in agreement. "Let's check and see." Wolfie said heading towards the sarcophagus. "Do be careful, Wolfie." Lesser said. Zack made his way to help but was suddenly stopped by his master.

"Wolfie is capable of carrying it himself. You need not exert yourself any further." Lesser said, seeing the blond was truly worn out. Wolfie carefully, very carefully, lifted the coffin up from the standing and adjusted it to be carried in his arms. They made their way out of the chamber with their finding, Lesser anxious to study the history of the sarcophagus and what it holds.
